Pinwheel cards

I love making things. I always have, ever since I was little and my favourite bit of Blue Peter was where they made things using ’sticky-backed plastic’ (I never knew what that was supposed to be! Sellotape?). In the last few years I’ve got really into cardmaking. And craft shops are now springing up all over the place, and it’s SO hard to resist. I have all sorts of things in my cardmaking stash and I blush to confess that I don’t use half of them, yet I can’t bear to get rid of them. One day I might need that paper self-adhesive lace! One day I might need those purple silk rose petals! (Which is actually true – I do sometimes look at a project and think ‘ah! I have the perfect thing to go there!’)

In the past week I’ve become addicted to making pinwheels. They’re like mini windmills and you can put them on anything. I hadn’t even thought of making them until someone passed on this link to me – and I looked at it and thought ‘gosh, that’s so easy and yet so pretty!’ So I got started, and now I can’t stop! This is what I made for the girl next door, who has just got the grades she needed to go to university:

Well done Beth on your two Bs and a C!

And I also made a birthday card for Jemima’s friend:

I am also addicted to glitter glue, which is possibly the best invention since the paper trimmer

All this craft stuff has got me thinking that I’d like to start my own craft blog, with step-by-step instructions on how to make cards and other things. I even took some step-by-step photos of making pinwheels so that I could share it with people. But when on earth would I find the time??

Do YOU like making things? Let me know if you’d like to know how to make pinwheels and I’ll write out the instructions!

Love from Jo
